I too feel like Im on the wrong planet sometimes and wish like Bill Hicks that the aliens will abduct me an take me to their utopian world of Aucturas, However in between Ill have to make do with the rollarcoaster ride that is life here in Dublin.
My Brother sent me this the other day, I thought it was really funny because the whole mentality of irish teachers and its classroom was spot on. If youre easily offended dont watch it and certainly dont have the kids around either.
I kept trying to make it back here to comment on your poetry post but couldn't decide what my favorite poem was. Probably something by Yeats or Frost, Millay or cummings, maybe Paul Engel.
I had the same experience you describe as a young person "discovering" poetry. Something changed and has never been the same since, thankfully.
My mother inlaw seperated me and my father inlaw during a wedding cause I got caught up in the "quiet" giggles and shoulder shaking. I was completely unable to stop. And of course the more I tried the less control I had. And once my Father in law was sent to time out, it was totally unreversable!!!!
