I too feel like Im on the wrong planet sometimes and wish like Bill Hicks that the aliens will abduct me an take me to their utopian world of Aucturas, However in between Ill have to make do with the rollarcoaster ride that is life here in Dublin.

Wanna Be Startin Somethin??
Well after another long spell out of blogdom, one or two things points of interest has happened- I quit my job or rather as my boss would see it he fired me- either way I wasnt prepared to drag all the ill feeling and unhappiness back home with me day in day out for a paranoid dilusional and rude imbecile. It seems asking for a long overdue raise was completely out of the question, so standing my ground and pointing out the hard work I have done over the last 12 months was apparently 'questioning his authority' so I left. No job is worth you coming home crying with frustration, anger etc. Id rather spend my day with my family, job hunting and belt tightening than put up with anymore of his crap.
I expect he will be incontact with me soon since I hold the password to the company email etc but if offered a raise etc No money in this world will be good enough to make me work there again, and in the words of the obscure 80s band timbuk 3, I say 'the futures so bright I gotta wear shades'

Jude,
I love your attitude towards the whole thing. Good for you. Sometimes you just have to know that what seems to be good at one place is really bad for you when you look at all the opportunities on the outside. Good For You! If he calls you, tell him to go to my page today and learn a lesson on courtesy. Keep the faith! You have made the right decision.

Have been thinking about you this week - meaning to email and never quite getting around to it. Hope you're ok. You were too good for that place anyway.
Puss xx
Good for you. You deserve better.
I hope you conveniently forget the password.
You are one amazing chick. Good for you for demanding proper compensation, I'm only sorry your employer is to much of a dick to see your real value. My fingers are crossed at the very least a good job with decent pay finds you right quick.
Home with the kids has to be enjoyable though. Nice.

Im willing to take anything just to compensate income and then when I have the time between will be looking towards a more prospective job. For now though a 3 month stint at a call centre should sort out christmas and give me enough time to maybe brush up some skills needed for my trained profession..
Heyya Judith, I was wondering what'd become of you. Hammer is right- take a lesson from the politico's on this side of the pond and just say "I can't recall" until the questions stop.
You'll surely land something better. Cheers!
Jesus. I keep seeing this happening to a lot of my friends lately, including me. Are employers getting worse or has it always been this way? If they want to treat us as disposible then they can just fuck off. Who needs it? Best of luck with everything. Lots of love.
Good for you! Life is too short to be so miserable every day for hours you will never get back.
Besides, now that there is a vacancy, the right job will come along, the one that excites and gratifies you and pays you what you are worth.
Nothing ever leaves our lives unless something better is waiting to replace it. I know this sounds awfully Pollyanna-ish, but I have found it to be true and I know you will, too. Good luck!

At the moment hes screaming looking for 5 years worth of accounts in one book - now I havent a clue where it is but I bet he thinks I took it for revenge - see karma works

I think theres a lot of mindset between employers/employees of being disposable especially with the huge influx of immigrants into Ireland - these people work for half the money and longer hours so many people are putting up with shite in my industry and other areas because they fear they will pay the ultimate price for being insubordinate or questioning something as simple as a pay rise
Hearts
thank you so much for your warm and kind words
Or, as Yazz would have it, "the only way is up". Good luck!
How cool that you quoted Timbuk3!
Sorry about your job. My wife is starting to get there with her boss.
Good luck on the job search!
